Polygraph School

I know I have been MIA for quite a while now. Just a quick update. I was accepted into Polygraph school for the police department. It is a very tough school, I was really excited to be accepted. It's a 2 month school, they say its like a masters course in 8 weeks. Its been a long time since I've been in school so its pretty tough.

Of course right after I started school the bedbug business took off. Great timing, but what can you do.

Mothers Day is not going to be very fun, I have 3 test next week to study for:(

Fun in the backyard

Ok, some of these pictures look like someone is going to end up at the ER, but it was funny.

I have a staple in my mouth!

Michael had been saying for a few days that he had a staple in his mouth. I figured, whatever, he says strange stuff all of the time. In the fall after he caught a cold he would say that he had leaves in his mouth. I guess he put 2 and 2 together, played in the leaves, got a sore throat. I knew there was no way that he really did not have a staple in his mouth so I did not give it much thought.

On Thursday morning Eric was getting ready to take the boys for a dentist appointment. Michael says to me that he is going to ask the dentist about the staple in his mouth. I told him "Michael you do not have a staple in your mouth", he insisted he did. I went and got a flashlight and looked in his mouth....well he has a new tooth coming in behind a wiggly baby tooth. Now that explained everything, I really could understand why he thought it was a staple. He was very proud to show the dentist his new tooth. Turns out most of his bottom front teeth are loose. Guess the tooth fairy is going to be busy!

Knowledge

Today as I was getting ready for work Michael was in his room looking at the library books that he had just gotten from school. He came out of his room holding a book open and said "I think we should go to the Lincoln Memorial some time like Dr. King did". I was amazed. He had a book about Dr. King and he was looking at a picture of Dr. King giving his "I have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial. I told Michael that we would definitely go there this spring.

Even though I still see them as my babies they are growing up so fast. I was not really a fan of them attending an all day kindergarten. I thought it would just be too much, they were too young...well, when I see how far they have come and how much they have learned it all seems worth it.

Inner Peace

Most of my friends know that I am a huge Oprah fan. I took her advice and watched the Dr. Phil show. For those of you who did not get a chance to see the show I just wanted to post and let you know how well his advice worked....

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr Phil proclaimed, 'The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.' So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a bottle of Kailua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now. Please pass this on to those whomever you think might be in need of inner peace.

Snow Tubing

video

Today we went snow tubing with the Cohen-Cerkovnik family. What a great time. It did not start off as a smooth trip. We had a lot of trouble finding snow boots, gloves, etc. Of course our stuff is still packed away from construction (but that's another story). We went to Ski Liberty. At first it was just flurrying, but then it really started snowing. I can't believe all of the kids went down the hill, I thought for sure out of 5 - 5year olds someone would be scared. Really the funniest part of the day was the ride to the top of the hill. You step onto an incline conveyor belt. I was behind Ben, he wasn't waiting for anyone, he was on a mission to get to the top of the hill. I look behind me and David and Michael are falling down on the conveyor and it doesn't look as if Sharon is doing much better! I was lucky to stay on myself I was laughing so hard.

I was able to take this video of David as we tubed down the hill together. I wish I was able to get one of all the kids, but the snow got so heavy I figured I was in danger of ruining my camera.
