Somehow David got his finger stuck in a plastic telescope. I have know idea why he would think it was a good idea to stick his finger in there. He came to me crying that he needed "slippery soap" to get the telescope off. Simple enough--well all the slippery soap in the world was not going to get that thing off of his finger.
I was ready to take him to the fire department, they have the jaws of life, surely they would have something to cut off a plastic telescope right? Of course Eric thought that was crazy, he said he would just cut it off. Well that scared David and excited Michael. Michael was already in the bathtub so we had to move ourselves into the bathroom so that Michael could watch. We had David close his eyes and then Eric started cutting. I was probably just as worried as David, but it came off pretty easy, Eric did a good job and did not cut David's finger off. Well, just to add a little drama, Michael starts shouting "there's blood". Meanwhile David has just opened his eyes and is scrambling to find the blood. I had to show them both that there was no blood, it was just a piece of red plastic on the washcloth. Not good enough for Michael, he insisted it was blood until I picked it off the washcloth and showed him.
Just another day at the Nelson's.
